Who are we?
Junior Achievement is fundamentally a volunteer organization where dedicated individuals give their time in the classroom to educate and inspire young people about financial literacy, workforce readiness, and entrepreneurship. It follows that volunteers are the hallmark of the organization. Through their involvement, JA is able to bring a new and broader meaning to the lessons student are taught in school, no other non-profit organization has the “in the classroom reach”.
What is the extent of our need?
At no other time in history has the need to provide school children with effective and efficient educational experiences been as compelling. It is our belief that we must provide superior learning opportunities to ensure that students develop the competencies necessary for success in a global economy. We believe further, that the best intellectual learning occurs in a context that illustrates its practical value. JA Worldwide has developed relevant and age-appropriate programs for students at every grade level that provide for the hands-on application of knowledge. As students participate in a reality-based simulations and combine these experiences with the general principles taught in the classroom, they gain a thorough and realistic understanding of our economic system.
